Mane Joy Connection was founded on April 10, 2020 and we received our 501(c)(3) Determination letter in June of 2020. We are a Public Charity. In our first year, we served 6 riders from October to December and 1 scholarship program for weekly lessons.

As of July 2021, we served 8 additional riders, a 33.33% increase and 9 of the cohort received scholarships for lesson participation and/or SFR tours.

MJC’s program revenue had an increase of 264% over the founding year of 2020!

By end of 2021 we served 55 riders and 33 received scholarships. Mane Joy Connection provided a scholarships for 60% of their participants in 2021!

The focus for 2022 was strengthening our infrastructure, building community partnerships and organizational collaborations including fundraising to better serve our Mission. We received our first grant from Executive Directors of Color Institute (EDCI) by completing the 2-year professional development program. In addition, we partnered with Yoga professionals and hosted 2 fundraising sessions (one was rained out). We partnered with BuildStrong Academy to build our our office and classroom. We have added two programs, Strengthening Leadership Through Horses and Health and Wellness program through Sunset Yoga @ SonFlower Ranch.
